HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP K Kavitha kicked up a storm by saying the disputed states Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana were forcibly merged with India.
A FIR was filed on Monday against the leader over her controversial remark. The police filed a case based on a petition by BJP city legal cell convener K Karunasagar, Deccan Chronicle reports.
Karunasagar alleged that Kavitha said Kashmir and Telangana were not parts of India.
Following the allegations, the Seventh Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Nampally, last week directed the cops to book a case under IPC Section 124 A for sedition, 153 B for imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration, and 505 for making statements conducing to public mischief, the report adds.
